«Life is like an expedition: hardships are inevitable, but you choose the direction.»
Biography
Nurlan Abduov is a traveler, polar expedition member, and one of the organizers of the Kazakh Geographical Society’s expedition programs. In 2011, he led the first Kazakhstani overland expedition to the South Pole. The team crossed Antarctica’s icy expanses and reached their goal on December 14 — the 100th anniversary of Roald Amundsen’s conquest of the South Pole.
His travel record also includes a ski expedition to the North Pole. His experience in the Arctic and Antarctic became part of the development of KazGeo’s polar projects, which bring together travel, scientific research, and the representation of Kazakhstan on the international stage.
