Biography
Aliya Yernazarova holds a PhD in Biological Sciences and is a researcher in microbiology and biotechnology. She took part in the scientific program of KazGeo’s 2016–2017 Antarctic expedition “Pole of Independence.”
Her focus during the expedition was studying the diversity of microorganisms adapted to Antarctica’s extreme conditions. Aliya’s scientific training includes an international fellowship at the University of Białystok in Poland under the “Bolashak” program, where she mastered modern molecular methods in microbiology.
Her expedition work connects field research with laboratory science and helps reveal Antarctica as a space for studying life in extreme environments.
