Kazakh Geographical Society
founded on April 30, 2010
The Kazakh Geographical Society is people united by a drive to explore, discover, and share knowledge. We introduce the world to Kazakhstan, and Kazakhstan to the world, through expeditions, science, culture, and sport.
For us, geography begins with curiosity and continues in action: taking a new route, learning the history of a place, supporting research, preserving natural heritage, and inspiring others to make their own discoveries.
Bringing together people who go further.
The Kazakh Geographical Society is a public association developing expedition, research, cultural, and educational projects.
KazGeo brings together travelers, scientists, athletes, photographers, and enthusiasts. Each has their own experience and profession, but a shared goal — expanding knowledge of our country and planet by turning ideas into real action.
We believe that discovery isn’t reserved for professional researchers alone. It begins with the desire to learn more and the readiness to take the first step.
Explore the world. Discover Kazakhstan. Inspire people.
We aim to spark interest in geography, history, and culture, foster a responsible attitude toward nature, and create opportunities to take part in expeditions and socially meaningful projects.
Through its work, KazGeo introduces international audiences to Kazakhstan — its people, traditions, nature, and achievements.
From idea to achievement.
KazGeo’s history includes expeditions to the North and South Poles, mountain ascents, international cycling routes, and research and cultural projects.
Among them: an overland expedition to the South Pole that entered the Guinness Book of Records; world records for preparing the largest beshbarmak and lagman; the “Beibitshilik Jane Birlik” cycling expedition along the London–Astana route; and the “Kazakhstan Terra Incognita” project dedicated to our country’s history and culture.
Every project is the work of its participants, organizers, and partners. Their knowledge, persistence, and mutual support turn bold ideas into a shared story.
Behind every discovery are people.
An expedition begins long before setting out on the route. Behind it are those who develop the idea, study the terrain, prepare the equipment, negotiate with partners, and document every stage.
Meet the KazGeo team and members — people whose interests and achievements shape the life of the Society.
Big ideas require shared effort.
We are open to cooperation with scientific and educational organizations, businesses, government institutions, media, and public associations.
A joint expedition, research project, cultural initiative, or educational program — suggest a direction where we can be useful to each other.
There are many ways to contribute: propose an idea, share your professional expertise, support a project, or learn about ways to get involved.
Tell us what interests you and what you’d like to do together with KazGeo.
