‘Clearwater’ Documentary About the Botai Culture

With the direct participation, expert, and financial support of the Kazakhstan National Geographic Society, the large-scale international documentary film ‘Clearwater’ was created, dedicated to the unique Botai Eneolithic culture of Northern Kazakhstan—the globally renowned cradle of the earliest horse domestication.

Looking Back Millennia

The film details multi-year archaeological excavations, unique artifacts, dwellings of ancient Botai people, and the colossal world-historical significance of the Botai civilization for the evolution of horse breeding and the formation of Eurasian nomadic culture. The film crew, alongside leading archaeologists, recreated the daily life and atmosphere of ancient steppe dwellers.
